Maybe I should run for office?

So let me see if I have this right. The Obama administration and the Democrats want to set up a government run health care program. The obvious question begging to be asked, and has been, is who and how is this going to be paid for? These questions have been on various radio shows and a legitimate answer has yet to be given.

The question I want to ask is how long can this program possibly last? Setting up the program is as simple as the congress saying yea. Voila there it is. This was tyhe easy part. Next come the requirements from the government. If you are going to participate in government run health care then you can't smoke. If you do, then you will be extinguished from the program. After all, we all know that smoking isn't good for you. Therefore, if it is not good, then it is bad and you can"t do it. Fried foods also contribute to bad health. From now on, all foods must be steamed or boiled. No more trans-fats or oil based cooking products. All food products must be low-fat or fat free. Also, they should not be full of any type of cholesterol. This pretty much narrows the food choices down to skim milk and salad. No whole milk or cheeses. This contains too much fat and is bad for you.

No person should be driving a vehicle. Thousands die each year and this eliminates taxpayers. Also, millions more are injured and this would cost the program too much  money. Besides, cars are evil for the environment, you shouldn't be driving anyway. Step by step. individual freedoms would be given up and the amount of money in tax revenues would drop. How you ask? If tobacco products not allowed, then the purchasing of these products would decrease lowering the demand for this product means they won't be produced at the same level. This would put people, and companies out of business. Therefore not only do revenues drop, the amount of people on government run health care goes up accordingly. The same could be applied to all companies and people that presently work in industries that the government run health system would find unacceptable. As time passes the amount of people needing this program will increase and the number of people funding this program would decrease. The governments answer to everything would be to raise the taxes on those who do pay. This would raise the level of working poor and send the rich scurrying to other nations eliminating even more revenue.

Basic elementary level math and high school level economics is all one needs to see that this paln is a failure and will destroy the working classes and the poor as well as rob the rich. The rich will have an option, the rest won't. The rich can afford to move elsewhere. The super rich can still survive and pay for their own health care. The middle and lower class will find themselves beholden to the politicians and the rich. The very class warfare that the socialists... I mean democrats claimed exists would then truly exist and it would be due to their marxist ideology. The only reason the government has the potential to detroy our nation is because the individual American allowed it to. People who mistake their feelings as truth have neither.

What about Energy? I haven't seen anything from the administration that involves nuclear energy? Nor have I heard a clamor to drill for our own oil? I have stated before that the Oil Shale in the western states could be used while our brightest and best work on a better cleaner energy source. No matter how this goes, it would relieve or use of foreign oil. We could drill out own oil over the next 25 to 30 years. By this point someone will most certainly come up with a more efficient and clean source of energy.

None of this is rocket science. Its right in front of us. It is pure individualism and freedom. It is what this country was founded on and what this country relied on to be successful. How are people missing this?

We Have Created an Islamic State

American lives and treasure have been spent on re-building Iraq. Other nations have joined in a supported this effort, yet America has taken the brunt of the criticism, therefore to those other nations do not take this as an affront to your efforts. They are very much appreciated. This being said, it was America that led the coalition and it is America that is now pulling out of Iraqi cities and leaving it to the Iraqis to defend and protect.

As noble as this sounds, what happens when the Islamists scare the good people of Iraq back into oppression? Ten years from now, what kind of nation will Iraq be? Will it be a freedom loving democracy or will it more or less resemble present day Iran? My bet is placed on the latter.

Though the present administration has stated that American troops will stay out of the cities unless specifically requested, I don't see the present administration leaving enough troops in Iraq to be effective. In the end, the Obama administration will say the Iraq needs to take responsibility and that we can't always be there to be their safety blanket. Anyone paying attention to American politics sees this as the polar opposite to what they are attempting internally.

Ten years from now, Iraq will be an islamist nation suppressing it's religion minorities and following some sort of shari'a law. Imam's will control Iraqi minds and will be dictating Iraq's future. The American administration and it's supporters will lay all of this at the feet of George W. Bush though he is already far removed from what is taking place. He will take the brunt because he took us into Iraq in the first place. The land of the free will be held accountable for developing a nation of oppression and fear.

Other nations in the region, just as vicious and oppressive, will take advantage of the situation while also pointing the finger. In the end it will be proven that the Americans no longer care about anyone or anything but themselves and they aren't really good at that either.

As America withdraws from Iraq how many Iraqis will be murdered? How many Iraqi children will be blown up going to school? How many Iraqi mothers and fathers will live in fear for their families lives because they may believe the wrong thing or actually want a decent future for their children? None of this matters to the immature and selfish western world. As long as we have our health care paid for by rich people and the bad guys stay where they are.

September 11th has already been forgotten in America. It is nothing more than just another day on the calendar. Twenty years from now, Iraq won't be more than a blip on a timeline in the American history books. Iraq will rejoin it's allies in the Axis of evil and America will have to take the blame. Lives were lost because we supposedly believed in freedom and democracy. We used to believe that every individual has value and a right to act on their own behalf and pursue that which makes the happy. How can we say that with a straight face as we watch Iraq turn into an islamc state which negates this very possibility?

Inviting the Fox to the Henhouse

It has been stated that recent overtures to engage Syria and Iran in the diplomatic process have to do with securing Iraq once American troops start to withdraw. Being a student of history, I am confused as to how this would be considered a good thing. Syria and Iran are presently involved in both Lebanon, with Hizbullah, and in the Gaza Strip with Hamas. Why would America want them involved in "securing" Iraq?

What makes an administration ignore facts that are right in front of them? I'm sorry. I forgot, Barack Obama was elected on a promise of hope. Therefore, disregard the truth, and hope for something better. This has to fall into a definition of insanity somehow? Iran and Syria would be more than happy to get blatantly involved in Iraq as opposed to the latent actions they are involved in presently. They would no longer have to kill American soldiers they could kill Iraqis instead. Over time, and not a long period of time, they could place their own politicians into the Iraqi government and eventually get the proxy puppet in Baghdad equal to the one in Beirut and Gaza.

Inviting Iran and Syria to the table in regards to Iraq is inviting the fox into the hen house. In the end, the farmer is left with nothing. In this case, the farmer is America and the Iraqi who intended on building their own nation . These same Iraqis will eventually see themselves placed in prisons equivalent to the ones Saddam Hussein used to run. This would negate the sacrifice of Americans, both militarily and politically. The socialists in America would do their best to blame George W. Bush for getting us into the war when in truth it will become a failure because of this administrations decisions.

Millions died after the Americans withdrew from Vietnam. Vietnam was not lost because of the military it was lost because of the politicians. The same will happen in Iraq. Just like then, the politicians who were afraid to fight the war as needed, and then withdrew because of their failures, will blame others. How many children will be murdered because some fat bellied, posh, ignorant, American politician believes that America is the cause of all of the world's ills?

Inviting Iran and Syria to the adult table is like inviting a Anheuser Busch to an AA meeting. This is pure insanity.
