Utopian dreams lead to destruction

Many people fail in life because they refuse to do the things, big and little, that will lead to success. Procrastination, anger, spite, and other character traits often lead to failure. Governments lead people down a path of failure because they refuse to acknowledge and deal with items that are factual and true. These items often differ from what the governments want to believe. This falls right in line with "people believe what they want to believe. Facts be damned".

The Israeli-Arab conflict is a perfect example of this adage. One could go a step further and make the claim that there is also an islamist-islamist conflict. The "palestinians" are there fore in conflict with Israel, who they hate, and themselves, who they hate. Tragically, the so-called "free world" has freely ignored facts and went down a path based on fantasy and utopian thinking. For the last 40 years this approach has failed. This fact has yet to be accepted by the "free world". In fact, the free in "free world" has come to represent the world ignoring facts freely. This has negatively affected domestic economies and education as well as foreign policy decisions.

Most of the facts that get ignored are issues that may lead to conflict. Other issues involve responsibility and accountability. Though the results are right in front of their faces, the freely ignore them and do their best to put off the consequences. This just guarantees that when the debt comes due, it will be larger than can be dealt with.

The longer the truth of the Israeli-"palestinian" and Arab conflict is put off, the more dangerous it becomes. This will, in the end, guarantee an extremely violent conflict that the utopians have put off for decades. The United Nations is the biggest proponent in creating this future conflict. They have allies in Europe and a new found ally in America named Barack Obama. The rabble-rousers are the islamists and their enablers. The UN and Mr. Obama would rather appease them than confront them. In the utopian mindset, violence, especially warfare, is NEVER the answer.

To enforce their ideology they practice a modern version of Fascism. They do their best to flood the media with nice sounding words such as hope. They do their best to claim positives in any situation. It doesn't matter if the positive doesn't really exist. They flood the media with comments trying to claim that there is "progress being made". This usually means that they have agreed to agree on having a meeting to discuss a future meeting in order to discuss an item that may possibly lead to another meeting. If this is confusing, that's what they are trying to obtain. Confusion causes people to give up and just accept whatever is being done. In short, they expect the people to fall in line like a gaggle of lemmings.

This is what qualifies as politics today. Until people take responsibility on themselves, we will continue to have this type of political leader. A leader that only knows one direction. Down.

Can anyone fight a real war?

I have steadily stated that Barack Obama and his ideology is stuck in the teen-age years. Both his domestic and foreign policies are based on an unrealistic fantasy held by many teenagers. This ideology, in many, goes away at about the time they have children and are faced with reality.

Mr. Obama is going to play both sides of the fence when it comes to dealing with the Israeli-Arab conflict. Tragically, because of his familial roots, when push comes to shove he will lean to the arab side which happens to be islamic.

An editorial in the Jerusalem Post titled "How To Lose A War" has provided me with some ideas to opine.

First, earlier this year Barack Obama invited some historians to the White House to discuss the affects of the war in Afghanistan would affect his Presidency. His fear was related to the impact Vietnam had on LBJ and his Presidency. The ideas brought forth, there were two of them, shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who has spent even cursory time studying the era and the conflict.

1. There was no society-wide commitment to victory. American leaders had not psychologically mobilized the home front behind the war, refusing to ask Congress for a declaration of war

I have stated this in pieces I have written only to be castigated as ignorant at best. I also wrote that I thought the fact that President Bush made the same error would lead to the downfall of the present war before it was won. We are seeing that in action as I write this.

2. The US failed to go after North Vietnam for most of the war, focusing instead on its Viet Cong proxies.

If you have read "The Ugly American", this problem was foreseen far before it began to unwind. The parallels to the present war are blatantly obvious. It is also something I have opined about previously.

So what happens when you refuse to fight a war as a war? The mission becomes muddles, the goals become confusing, and the enemy wins. This usually occurs due to a continuous redefining of what the mission and, if there is one, exit strategy truly is.

The war is not going well. So America has revised its strategy. The focus is not on killing the enemy, but on avoiding civilian casualties while creating conditions necessary for society-building.

In any true war, there are high civilian casualties. Whereas Americans have lived relatively unscathed from this fact, Europeans, Middle Easterners, Asians, Africans, and South Americans have lived this fact. In fact, has any good military expert will tell you, the sooner you get the civilian population to stop supporting the war, the sooner it will end. Because of our lack of direct exposure to the war, it takes a little bit longer but in the end has a more serious affect. Based on Vietnam and now Afghanistan and Iraq, America and much of the West, is perceived as not having the stomach for war no matter what the cause.

As for "society building", as long as the terror group that started the whole war is in existence, there will not be a society to build. Because the war was fought with white gloves on, the people that "needed killin'" are still running around killing others.

The enemy we are fighting knows very well what the Americans will and won't do. We have shown compassion, to our own detriment, at the worst of times. When going to war, the enemy has to realize that we are going to destroy everything in our path and in the end destroy them. We will do whatever is necessary to annihilate them. If a country is not willing to do this, then they have lost the war before it begins and should just sit back and lick whatever wounds were caused in the first place.

If patience is running thin on Afghanistan, and there is no stomach to stop Iran, the reasons are obvious. From Lockerbie to Afghanistan, Western decision-makers have compartmentalized Islamist violence - rather than defined it as a strategic menace to the Western values of tolerance and liberty.

This is another obvious statement. Barack Obama has decided that we aren't in a war we are conducting an "Over sea's Contingency Operation". We will find, arrest, and try those who "dare to stand against us". Oh yeah, that strikes fear in to the heart of a man, woman, or child willing to blow themselves up for their cause. When you don't want to do something, just get rid of it. In this case, Barack Obama doesn't want to fight a war so he just renames it something else. Sadly, there is probably a sizable amount of people in the US who have already fallen for his bait and switch. Not necessarily out of ignorance but because they want to. They are just as big as dolts as the islamic homicide bombers. In the end, the islamic "true believers" kill a few at a time, the Obama "true believers" will kill whole societies.

The lesson of Vietnam is that wars become unwinnable when leaders fail to identify their true enemies, leaving their societies unmobilized, confused and lacking in motivation.

This problem was created from the onset when President Bush allowed "politically correct" groups in the US define who the enemy was. It wasn't islamic terrorists, they are enemy combatants. The "America is what is wrong with the world" crowd actually got a say in how we started this war and how it was conducted and reported. In other words, we allowed the enemy to decide how we would fight them. Patton has to be rolling over in his grave.

To all the Israelis and supporters of Israel who are nervous about Barack Obama and what he may do in regards to Israel; you should be worried, In fact you should be more than worried. He has surrounded himself with people who have yet to figure out what is going in the US let alone the rest of the world. All of the recent events are confusing to his Utopian minded fantasies.

An Idea for Health Insurers

Here's an idea on how to handle the recently created Health Insurance "crisis" (or was it health care?)

Health insurers should come up with plans similar to car insurance. Provide emergency medical insurance that covers problems above and beyond the normal doctor visits for physicals, the sniffels, and such. This allows the person to pay out of pocket for these visits and eliminates all the paperwork which would drastically reduce the normal costs of a visit. Insurance companies could set this up along with Prescription coverage, and other choice items. I believe this would create an "Insurance Exchange" that the people take responsibility for. This allows the American Citizen to pay for what they want instead of taking a lot of insurance for things they may never use. It provides free CHOICE.

I am sure someone else has had this idea. I don't for a minute believe I was the only one to come up with something this simple. To others that have had similar ideas, send them to your representatives as well as your Insurance provider. Keep the government out of your personal life.
