According to reports the Islamists are on the run in Somalia. While the Diplomatic community is complaining, the Somali and Ethiopian military have laid seige to the outskirts of Mogadishu. The terrorists are trying to vacate the area as quick as possible. Calls for new jihadis have gone out and it doesn't appear to be making a difference. Ethiopia realizes the danger of having an Islamic state next door to them and has decided to do something about it. They've come along way from the famine 20 years ago.
Meanwhile, we have confirmed reports that there is now proof beyond doubt that Iran has been arming the terrorists in Iraq as well as Gaza and Southern Lebanon. A question I have for my government is, what does it take to be declared an act of war? Iran has been fighting us through proxies since 1979. When are we going to finally say enough is enough?
Diplomacy or war? Lets look at the results. The Somali government, with serious backing from Ethiopia has not only confronted the terrorists, they are fighting them with resolve and appear to be winning. As long as they don't back down or hesitate they will succeed in chasing the Islamists from Somalia. No mercy should be shown and no quarters given. Do it to them before they do it to you. War 1, Diplomacy 0.
Diplomacy has been the approach for the problems with Hizbollah and Hamas. Israel made an incursion into Southern Lebanon but then gave in to diplomatic pressure from the rest of the region and the UN. They decided to back out. Hizbollah has now been rearmed and is doing what it can to topple the Lebanese government. This would create an extremely nasty situation for Israel. Had Israel fought an all out war, the result would have been different. They should have taken Hizbollah out of the equation through annihilation. War 2, Diplomacy 0.
The United States sent its military into Iraq and toppled Saddam Hussein. The problem was that they met minimal resistance because the existing military and the terrorists went into hiding. The US, being compassionate, halted major military operations and allowed many of the Islamists to participate in the forming of a government. These Islamists are also members of Islamic militias within Iraq. They receive funding from outside of Iraq. Had the US decimated the country and killed the terrorists the situation today would be different. Because we gave into diplomatic pressure, the Islamists have been given a reprieve and allowed a new chance at life. War 3, diplomacy 0.
None of this is to say that diplomacy is not necessary. There are times when diplomacy will work. But not the diplomacy that is being bantered about today. This diplomacy is one of cowardice and appeasement. This diplomacy does not recognize when it has failed. When dealing with Islamists there should be no diplomacy. They manipulate and lie to get concessions and then return to terrorism to et more concessions. This is not diplomacy this is suicide.
Enough with the concessions. The Islamist lies and these lies are supported via the koran. The ideology of Islam is a threat to all peace loving people. The ideology of Islam is an attack on freedom. The ideology of Islam is one of power, control, and slavery. Diplomacy falls right into their mix. The Islamist takes advantage of our compassion and unwillingness to see things through to the end. Our self-guilt plays right into their plans of domination. The sooner people realize this, the sooner we can defend ourselves. Until then, diplomacy will continue to hand over more and more of our freedoms until there is nothing left to fight for.
