So we are supposed to sit down at the negotiation table with Iran and Syria. What has gone wrong with our world? The biggest state sponsor of terrorism gets to be involved in diplomacy with the western world that it hates so much. Sending terrorists to blow up western interest while teaching hatred in the mosques and madrassas in the western world gets you a seat at the diplomatic table. Intent on toppling western style governments and subjecting non-believers to second class citizenship provides one with legitimacy in the eyes of the "world community." What a world of cowards we live.
Iran has played the west like a finely tuned fiddle. We are in the process of giving them exactly what they want, hegemony within their region as well legitimacy on the world stage. Murder and torture all you want we will accept you. We will make deals with you despite the fact you wish to destroy us. Thank you Jimmy Carter. It was you that started this whole debacle. Your cowardice and inaction led to the Mullahs being in charge of Iran. Thank you Ronald Reagan for pulling out of Lebanon, thus allowing Syria to press with its idea of a greater Syria. Thank you George H.W. Bush for not pressing on to Baghdad during the first Gulf War. Thank you Bill Clinton for running from Somalia with our tail between our legs. Thank you George W. Bush for not conducting a true war in Iraq finalizing the mistakes made by your predecessors. Thank you U.S. House and Senate for the ineptitude you have displayed in all of these dealings. There is thanks enough to go around to everybody.
Now we are supposed to sit down with the very people who have financed all of the Islamist terrorism in existence today. We are to sit down with the very people who wish to kill us. We are to make a deal with a people that believe it is ok to lie to non-believers if it achieves the ultimate Islamic goal of world domination of allah's boys. POPPYCOCK! Mr. Baker tries to pawn off his past efforts at diplomacy as something worth while. It was those "diplomatic" efforts that put us where we are today. Treating Islamists as if they thought like a westerner is beyond ignorance. Making deals with know liars is suicidal.
Go ahead. Make a deal with Ahmadinejad. When he is at a point he can take advantage of, we're toast. I mean that literally. The enemy of my enemy is not my friend. Making any kind of deal with Iran or Syria will increase their stature within the third world despots. Chavez and his boys will increase their ties with the ME despots. Heck, they may make Islam their national religion to strengthen their ties. Then we have the Islamists blatantly at our doorstep. What do we do then? Of course we'll make deals with them.
This modern politic is pathetic and dangerous. Fear of fighting doesn't mean you run away. As is proven, we actually live on a small planet nowadays. Where can we run to? All we can do is fight or surrender. What do you plan to do?
